Secant Wall

A secant wall is a type of retaining wall that is composed of interlocking reinforced and non-reinforced piles. Reinforced piles are usually installed after the non-reinforced ones and cut through them to form a continuous watertight wall.
Reinforced piles consist of steel beam or reinforcement cage, while non-reinforced piles are usually made of weak concrete. Secant walls can be designed as cantilevered or retained by further reinforced with lateral support such as anchors, struts and rakers.
Reinforced piles consist of I-beams, H-beams, reinforcement cage, etc., while non-reinforced piles are usually made of weak concrete.
Secant walls can be cantilevered or retained by additional lateral support such as anchors, struts and rakers.
